Big Boy

This is the first picture I've taken where I can see his two bottom teeth. I know I've said this before but he just looks like such a big boy when he smiles now and I see teeth in his mouth!

A Day in the City

Yesterday Anderson and I set out to go visit Brooke and Charlie in the city. Brooke's last week of maternity leave is this week and we really wanted to see Charlie again before she goes back to work. How in the world did 12 weeks fly by so fast? Anderson and I were so excited to have our second little play date with Charlie. Technically, I guess it was the first since when we first met him he was only a week old!

We thought it was funny how right now there is such a big difference in size and milestones but in a couple years you won't be able to tell they're only 3 months apart.

Anderson wasn't even phased by Harley. He acted as if he sees big dogs every day! Harley was the cutest and put his head on Anderson's blanket just watching him play. Too cute! He also would come and check on Charlie or Anderson anytime they started fussing or crying. :)

By the time Dan came over after work to help us get home Anderson was very tired and ready for bed. He missed out on his afternoon nap since I was hoping he would nap in his stroller on the way there. As soon as we stepped off the Path station his eyes popped open. Guess he's not used to all the city noise and the sirens immediately woke him up.

On our walk to the Path station Dan and I passed Posto and Lantern. We peeked in the stroller and saw that Anderson was already passed out and just couldn't resist. Since Posto is a small restaurant with not much room for strollers we opted for Lantern. Y.U.M. Oh Lantern, how we've missed you! Thai just isn't the same in Hoboken.

Here's Dan deciding what to get. Too many good choices. See Anderson being an angel in his stroller? We just love what a good little boy he is!
The last two stops of the night were a quick one in DSW (Dan needed a new pair of black shoes) and my favorite place ever.

We got it to go and it was heavenly. Ate it as I watched the Bachelor when we got home. What more could I ask for? It was the perfect day.

6 Months Old!

Anderson is half a year old! I cannot believe he has been with us for half a year but on the other hand it feels like he's always been with us. The past 6 months have been amazing and Anderson is more than we could ever ask for. He is so sweet, full of smiles, and such a good baby boy. We are so lucky to have him as our son!
Today we went to Sweet a local cupcake shop to buy some cupcakes to celebrate his half year birthday.

I wanted to take a picture of him with the cupcake and he definitely was about to smash it. I had to act quick!

Anderson, here is what you are doing at 6 months:
  • You drink a 6 0z bottle 5 times a day.
  • You sleep 11-12 hours a night and nap 2-3 times a day.
  • You love to eat! You eat three times a day and LOVE food!
  • You can sit for shorts amount of time. Only about 5-10 seconds and then fall over :)
  • I am starting to teach you how to drink from a sippy cup although you don't seem that interested. You'd rather drink from a regular cup and like to take sips of water like a big boy.
  • You still love blowing raspberries. You do it all day long!
  • You love to smile and are very ticklish! My favorite sound is hearing you laugh.
  • You get bored in your bouncer easily and try to roll out of it. You still love your Jumperoo.
  • You are rolling! You can roll from one side of the room to the other which is why we went out this weekend and bought a softer rug for you to roll around on.
Last night Daddy and I went out for a date to celebrate having you as our son for half a year. We went to our favorite Sushi restaurant and took you with us. You were an angel and slept the whole time in your stroller. We took you out to dinner and brunch a lot when you were a newborn and thought it would change as soon as you got older, but so far you still let us go out to eat which is nice!

Happy 6 month birthday Anderson! We love you!

    Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a wonderful day with our little Valentine! Grumpy and Nana were visiting from Cape Cod so we went into the city to Geoff and Emily's new apartment to see them. We went out to lunch, played, walked to Bloomingdales, and then ordered pizza and a movie. It was way past Anderson's 6:30 bedtime so we made him a bed in the soon to be nursery and he fell fast asleep on the floor! We were too scared to put him in the bed since he rolls over now.
Here are some more pictures from today!

Sound asleep on the floor after a fun filled day with Grumpy and Nana!

    We're Rolling!

Anderson started rolling over in early January. He started the multiple rolls a week or two ago but I didn't realize how mobile he actually was until we arrived to Virginia on Thursday. He loves the carpeting in my parents room. I put him down today and this is what he did! I definitely need to talk to Dan about that big soft rug I've been wanting for our apartment. The hard berber rug is not going to cut it much longer!

    More Baby Food

It's been nice being home and having my mom help me make Anderson's baby food. We have bought a few jars but we've also made a lot of homemade purees. So far Anderson has had:
    • Rice Cereal
    • Sweet Potatoes
    • Squash
    • Avocado
    • Banana
    • Apples
    • Pears
    • Peas
    • Carrots
    • Prunes
Anderson loves food! He loves his vegetables so much - hope it stays that way! He really loved the avocado mixed with pear. I know it does not sound appetizing, but I tasted it and it was good. : )

He still makes this face from time to time...wonder what it means? This is after a bite of carrots. He's never gagged or spit food out but he scrunches up his face like the food is bitter when it's not. Too cute! :-)

    First Tooth

Anderson's favorite teether is Sophie the giraffe. His first tooth finally came in last week!

Can you see it? It's there on the bottom left! It's becoming more visible each day. I have to say he looks so much bigger to me with a little tooth in his mouth!

    Snow Day!

Anderson and I made it home to visit our family on Thursday. I was nervous for my first long drive by myself with him but we made it! He fussed the last hour or so and finally fell asleep 15 minutes before we arrived. We made it just before the blizzard of 2010 hit hard. It has been snowing nonstop since yesterday morning and we are officially snowed in for the next few days. It's so nice to be home with family and enjoy Anderson and the snow. I took him outside this morning to get his first taste of snow and he looked so confused!
Here are a few other pictures of us playing inside. Hoping that it clears up by Monday so we can get out and do some shopping while we're here. We're going back on Thursday and I know it will be here before we know it. Visits home go by way too fast!

    Raspberries!

Definition for Blowing Raspberries: Baby sticks out their tongue, mouth closed and blows to make noise. Yes, they tend to spit all over the place when they do it!

Anderson is still at it! He loves blowing raspberries. We were at yoga class yesterday doing all the baby poses and Anderson was causing a scene with all the noise he was making!

Here's another video of him blowing raspberries! It is such a messy trick!
