Happy 10th Month, Anderson!

Anderson has been so busy this month learning and growing! He started crawling at 9 months and this month he has mastered the skill. He goes everywhere and is into everything!
  • He eats table food now but still likes jarred fruit. He has never liked anything other than fruit in baby food jars and I'm pretty sure it's because he's always had the real thing when it comes to veggies.
  • He is now pulling himself up wherever he can. His favorite place to pull up is the bath tub.
  • He is saying more sounds..."mama", "dada", "baba". He sometimes confuses "dada" and "baba". If I ask him where Daddy is he looks at Dan and will say "baba".
  • He started pulling up on his crib a couple weeks ago which sometimes makes nap time more difficult. He will pull himself up and stare and the door now and call out for us to come back and get him.
  • Sleep has been the same. He goes down at 7:30 and sleeps until 5:30. He still takes long naps during the day one in the morning and afternoon.
  • He is a big boy. At his last checkup he was in the 95th percentile for length and head and 75% for weight. He weighs about 23 lbs and wears 12-18 month clothes.
  • He is a very happy and social baby and loves saying hi and bye to people when we go out.
I can't believe I'm starting to think about and plan his one year birthday. 10 months has flown by! I am so grateful for every day I get to spend with him at home.

Happy 10 months Anderson! We love you soooo much!

A Weekend with Tyler!

Last Friday Tyler came to visit us for the weekend. Her plane got in around noon on Friday so we had Friday, Saturday, and half of Sunday. It was so nice to have her here and Dan was nice enough to watch Anderson both nights so we could go out to eat and have enjoy ourselves!

Our first stop after meeting Tyler in the city - Pinkberry! Anderson had his first taste and loved it. :)

After dropping of Tyler's suitcase at our apartment and having Anderson take his afternoon nap we headed to the water. It was a gorgeous day and we had fun playing outside with baby A.
Anderson spotted a dog and was on a mission to go see him.
He got sidetracked by this couple and had to stop and say hello.
He finally made it! He couldn't have been any happier. :)

Aunt Ty Ty was sure making him laugh playing ball.

We made Dan take a picture of us each night before going out! The first night we went to a Charrioto's, a BYOB Mexican restaurant. We were in the mood for Sangria...yum!
On Saturday we spent most of the day in the city shopping in Soho. After finding everything we were looking for we headed up to the Upper East Side to visit Dylan's Candy Store. We then enjoyed lunch outside at Patsy's and had the best white pizza. It was another beautiful day. The weather was absolutely perfect!
Saturday night before going out to Sushi Lounge.
Tyler took this picture of us on Sunday morning, Father's Day! We enjoyed brunch at Forty Grill a restaurant on the water.
It was very muggy on Sunday. You can't even see the city in this picture!

Tyler took some cute pictures of Anderson during bath time. Her camera takes very "vivid" shots in my opinion! I love the second one with his mohawk. :)

Overall it was such a fun weekend and we can't wait to see her again soon! Our fingers are crossed that her brother will move to the city so she will have another reason to come visit often! Thanks for coming Tyler...we miss you already!

Bradley Beach

The beach was absolutely beautiful and we had it to ourselves!

Last Thursday we decided to take a morning trip to the Jersey Shore with our friends Vesta, Eva, and Gavin. It was an adventurous move to take without husbands, two babies, and a three year old but it was a successful trip! Anderson loved the beach and we lasted from 9:30-12:00 and left after having lunch on the boardwalk. The beach went above my expectations. We got there so early that we had the beach to ourselves. It was gorgeous! Vesta brought a baby pool for the kids to play in and they had so much fun splashing away.
After playing in the sand with wet hands I quickly realized what a mess Anderson was going to be. He had sand everywhere and wasn't too happy when he started rubbing his eyes. After rinsing him off in the shower he was as good as new and he took the best nap in the car on the way home. Bradley Beach was only an hour away and a very easy drive. Hopefully we'll make it back there one more time before the summer is over!

We had the best time and are looking forward to our next trip to the beach. We'll be in Cape Cod next week!!

Happy Birthday Foley!

Foley was born on June 11th at 5:52 am weighing 7 lbs 13oz. She is absolutely perfect! We are so happy for Geoff and Emily and are looking forward for all the fun memories ahead. I know that Foley and Anderson will be best buddies.
Emily took the family shot with Anderson on her camera so I will post it as soon as she sends it to me. It's an adorable shot of Anderson trying to pet her hair. :)

I'm such a proud Aunt!

Matthew Visits

This past weekend Matthew took the bus up from DC to visit us! Dan went up to Boston for the weekend so it was nice to have company while he was gone.
Anderson really loves his Uncle Matthew. His face lights up whenever he sees him. :)
When Matthew arrived we went straight to Central Park to enjoy the beautiful day. Anderson would not sit still and kept crawling away whenever he saw other babies!

After spending the day in the city we came back to Hoboken and had dinner at Grimaldi's. They have the best pizza!

On Sunday we went to Target, had brunch in Hoboken, and walked around the city some more. We went down to Madison Square Park where they were having their annual Barbeque Block Party. It was packed full of people since it has the country's top "pitmasters" cooking up their award winning barbeque. We ended up walking around the park and then headed back up to 34th street where Matthew had to catch the bus back to DC. It was a short visit but we had a lot of fun and look forward to seeing him again in July. Thanks for coming to visit Matthew! We had fun. :)

Tubby Time

Anderson has always loved the water. When he was a newborn he loved taking baths and it always calmed him. Now he has become obsessed with "tubby time". If I say tubby tubby time his face lights up and he crawls straight for the bathroom. In the morning when Dan takes his shower he will crawl to the bathroom and sit outside the door and cry until we open up the door. He then proceeds to sit outside the shower stall and tap on it trying to get in.

A True Leo

When it comes to Anderson's horoscope sign he is 100% Leo.

A Leo child likes to lead everywhere, in the house, in the playground and in the class. He has to be the leader in all the kiddy games or he will start sulking. He has to go the way he wants to and as long as it remains this way, he will be bright, cheerful, mischievous, and happy. A Leo baby is always enthusiastic and full of bright ideas.

Anderson is a very social baby and wants to be the center of attention all the time. At restaurants he has started turning to the table next to us to get the attention of the people eating and make friends with them. At brunch last weekend the guy at the table next to us was joking that Anderson was hitting on his girlfriend! I took him to music class on Tuesday and while all the other babies sat on their mommy's laps, he decided to crawl up to the music teacher and sit by her feet and wave to everyone during the "hello" song. Everyone was cracking up! Throughout the class he had to crawl over to babies to say hi to them. One of the moms called him a little politician. Wherever we go in elevators, restaurants, or stores everyone comments on what a happy baby he is. He does not have "stranger anxiety" which I read is common with babies.
On Wednesday night I babysat Gavin and Eva while their parents went to a concert and Anderson has never been happier. He played until he was exhausted and he was full of squeals and shrieks just to show how happy he was. It was so cute watching him play with them and it made me happy to know he is so social. I think that on top of the music class this week it made me realize I really have a happy baby. I love him to pieces and although his personality could change I love that he is Mr. Social right now. I know I am biased but I think I have the sweetest baby and I could not be happier. :)

A Trip to the Zoo

Anderson and Gavin

Anderson would not look at the camera!

On Monday we went for a morning trip to Van Saun Park in Paramus, NJ. This is one of the nicest parks I've ever been to! There was a carousel, train, zoo, and park with picnic tables. We did everything except for the carousel. Anderson loved the zoo and I ended up carrying him the Baby Bjorn so he could get a good look at all the animals. We saw cows, ducks, pigs, monkeys, turtles, and even a lion. He loved it! His current obsession is dogs but he seems to be an animal lover. After walking around the zoo we took a train ride around the park which was so nice. We got to see more animals and I could just tell he was so happy to be sitting on my lap riding around in a "choo choo". After the train he was very hungry so we went to the picnic tables for lunch. After swinging on the swings for a bit after he ate it was time to go home for his afternoon nap. Unfortunately he crashed on the car ride home and then did not want to go back down in his crib but overall it was such a fun day.
We've really enjoyed spending a lot of time lately with his friends Gavin and Eva. Gavin is 8 months old and Eva is almost 3 and they are both precious! He loves playing with them so much and I really enjoy being around another adult. :)
