Thirteen Fun Facts

Yesterday Anderson turned 13 months old!

1. He says Daddy clearly but does not say Mama (he still can't pronounce the "m" sound). Sometimes I hear him say it but mostly he calls me Bubba.
2. His first words are Daddy, Bye, Boon (for balloon), cucu (cookie), Agua (water), and Ella.
3. He uses sign language and it is SO helpful! He signs milk, eat, more, all done, swings (which means take me to the park!), and elephant.
4. He loves to eat all kinds of food and is not a picky eater. I really hope it stays that way!
5. He is not fond of much fruit on it's own. I have to make him a smoothie every morning and try to get a ton of fresh fruit in it. He does like apples and bananas though.
6. He is down to only 15 oz of milk a day. He does not like milk out of a sippy cup. I am struggling because I want him to still get his milk but he does not like the cup. For some reason he starts to gag. He loves water and juice out of a sippy cup.
7. He loves going to the park. He will sign swings and I know that means he wants to go outside and play!
8. He is walking up a storm! He has mastered the skill of walking the past 2 weeks which is why he loves the park even more now.
9. Even though he signs swings he does not like the swings anymore. He prefers to toddle around the park and go down the slide or chase balls.
10. He loves watching the dogs at the dog park.
11. He is really into animal sounds. His animal sounds include panting for dogs, "baa" for sheep, "ooooo" for cows, and growling for lions.
12. He loves going to the book store. He walks around, pulls books off the shelves, and just has the best time reading and playing with the puppets and all the fun toys they have.
13. My favorite sign he does is all done. He also says it, "ah du" when he signs. Yesterday when he woke up after his nap I went to his room to get him. He looked up at me from his crib and said all done. I thought it was the cutest thing ever!

First Hair Cut

Yesterday was a BIG day for me. Anderson's hair has been getting longer and longer and I've been struggling with the decision on whether to cut it or not. Having a little wiggle worm as a son I knew there was no way I could cut it myself. Last week I made the appointment and then called back and cancelled. I told Dan we'd go this past weekend but then I chickened out. I know it's just hair and it grows back but I knew it was going to make me so sad to see his first little locks get cut off.
Yesterday we went to a mom's group to play with other babies and his hair was c-r-a-z-y! I wish I'd taken a picture but it was sticking straight up and he really did look like an unkempt child. I took him right after the play date to the salon! I told the hair dresser to not take anything off the top and just got the back (it was turning into a mullet). He sat in a Taxi seat and watched Barney while she snipped away. After it was all done she asked if she could put gel in his hair and I just had to laugh. I definitely live in New Jersey! My baby had a little mohawk when we walked out.

One Year Ago

One year ago I was holding my newborn baby before going out to dinner to celebrate my birthday.

One year later! Amazing to see how much he's grown in just one year.
