10.14.10

Yesterday was such a busy day! Here are a few exciting things that took place. :)

1) It was our 3 year anniversary! Dan and I are celebrating on Saturday but I just can't talk about yesterday without mentioning this first. I am blessed to have him as my husband and the past three years have been the best. I am really looking forward to our date night tomorrow.
2) We spent the afternoon with Connor! Kristin and Mike are in town and while they were out getting things done I was able to watch him. It was amazing to watch him and Anderson play together and see how big he's gotten! He is so sweet and I love that I will forever be a part of his life. As soon as I walked in he ran to me and gave me a bear hug. It made so happy that he remembered me!
Best Buds
They only issue was Connor's blanky. Anderson thought it was his! Next time I'll know to bring his. A few tears were shed. :(
A face of pure joy! He loved playing with Connor.

3) We went to Dan's office after watching Connor. By this point Anderson was tired but he loved the office! Thank goodness it was after 5:00 though. He was running around and acting very hyper! If it had been earlier people wouldn't have been able to get their work done. :)

Dan's office has old Red Sox seats from Fenway Park. Of course we had to get a picture of him sitting in them!
Anderson was able to see where his Daddy spends all day.
Hard at work. Notice all the pictures Dan has up! There were even more on the side. :)
We had a lot of fun on 10.14.10. And the anniversary celebration will continue tomorrow!

Enjoy Him

"Enjoy him. They grow up so fast." That's what a random stranger said to me yesterday as we we walked by on our way to Romparoo. It caught me off guard because it was completely out of the blue and I hadn't even seen her. As I smiled and kept walking I thanked her for the reminder. There are days when being a Stay at Home Mom (SAHM I've learned is the abbreviation for my job) are monotonous. There is a lot of "filler" as one blog I read this week put it. Playing with the same toys, reading books, changing diapers, wiping noses, the list goes on. But after being reminded about how fast it goes I am so grateful for each day I get to spend at home with Anderson. The "filler" of our day is truly a gift. They are beautiful moments in which I can watch my son grow and learn about the world around him. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Do I miss teaching children and interacting with colleagues on a daily basis? Most definitely. But I know that day will come when I'll go back to the classroom and little Andy will come greet me at the end of the day. He'll walk in, tell me about his day, and we'll get to go home together. This is a huge reason why I decided to be a teacher a long time ago. I get to have the best of both worlds one day. And in the mean time I get to teach Anderson one on one at home. Yesterday we went to Romparoo and then to the park. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed it together. I know my current job as a SAHM is valuable and I am grateful for each moment.

On Tuesday we spent some time at Frank Sinatra Park. His favorite
thing right now is pointing out the boats and helicopters.
Romparoo! He loves this place.
After Romparoo we went to the Park. Enjoying all these gorgeous days
before the cold front comes!

He always finds a little girl's stroller and pushes it around. Is it strange that the thought crosses my mind I should get him one? :)

Perfect Fall Day

I love October. I love the cooler weather, colorful leaves starting to change, and Halloween. On Saturday we woke up and decided it was a gorgeous day and needed to take a little road trip to visit a pumpkin patch. So we got in the car around 12:30 and headed to Princeton, NJ to Terhune Orchards. After stop and go traffic on Route 1 that was really frustrating we pulled off the exit and drove through the beautiful windy wooded roads. The Orchard was full of people and a bit crazy but it was still a fun two hours spent as a family.

Unfortunately we didn't get to go into the "farm store" for cider and apples like I had wanted because it was just too crowded. But, we were able to enjoy the weather and do perfect fall things like hayrides, picking pumpkins, and feeding farm animals.

Looking for the perfect pumpkin
Found one!

Anderson loves animals. The happiness all over his face when he saw the sheep, goats, and horses made the trip worth it. He has no fear and was up as close as he could be feeding the sheep.

We had a lot of fun and I hope to go back to another farm next weekend! There is another one only half an hour away and hopefully I'll get my cider and apples this time around.
Leaving with his perfect pumpkin!

The Past Few Days

We've been busy the past few days! On Saturday we went over to Brooke and John's and saw Charlie and Foley. We had so much fun visiting with everyone.

The boys watching football!

Foley is adorable!

On Sunday we went to a new pancake place in Hoboken called Stacks. It is so good! Anderson did very well and loved the apple pancakes I shared with him.

On Tuesday I took Anderson to a music class. He loves the drums and dancing to all the music. Here he his banging away!
Ready to go for a stroll. He loves driving around Hoboken in his car. :)
We have been to Romparoo twice now and he loves it. We go to the "Toddler Madness" class where he just goes crazy! They also sing, dance, and read books at the end. It has been so much fun to watch him play and explore.
