Our Weekend

We had a great weekend. Friday night we went out to eat at Mellow Mushroom. Anderson loved the kid friendly environment and the pizza was so good. Saturday Dan took Anderson to Soccer and then later we all went to South Park mall. Today we drove to Davidson to see if we were interested in looking at homes in this golf community. It was beautiful but decided it wasn't for us. We did enjoy a nice lunch in downtown Davidson afterwards. Once we got back to Charlotte we went to an open house that we had spotted signs for on Friday night when we were on our way to dinner. I think we're narrowing down our decision on where we want to live! This is a huge decision and can't believe we're actually making progress in this home search.

Tonight I made another video putting some of my favorite pictures from summer so far. I'm happy I'll have this little video to look back on Summer 2012.

Little Sack of Sugar

I would love to take a class and learn more about iMovie. I think it's so much fun to be able to create, edit, and make family movies with pictures and video clips. I have a long way to go but here is a little video I made last night of Annabel.

Weekend Recap

On Saturday morning Anderson had his first Soccer Shots practice!

We were so proud of how he did! It is so much fun to watch 3 year olds play soccer :)

Afterwards we headed to the Sprayground at Latta park

Staying cool in the stroller

Annabel went on the swings for the first time! She was kind of unsure of the whole thing and wouldn't look up so I could take a picture of her

On Sunday morning while Dan played golf we headed to Freedom Park

Feeding the ducks

This was our first time at the playground in Freedom Park. Anderson loved it!

In other news...We have been very busy watching all the construction going on right outside our house

They are putting in sidewalks and new drainage.  This is what our street looks like...

Eating a cool treat while watching

We got hot after a while so we decided it was time for the pool

Annabel joined Anderson for the first time and loved it

Back to watching construction - it really is quite a show out there

Martha's Vineyard

On Monday during our stay we planned on going to Martha's Vineyard. We took the 9:30 ferry over and were on the island by 10:15. It is only seven miles off the southern coast of Cape Cod. I can't believe I'd never done the visit before!

On the ferry on the way there

First stop in Oak Bluffs was the Flying Horses Carousel. This carousel is a national landmark since it was constructed in 1876 making it America's oldest carousel

Sooo excited to get on he wouldn't even look at me

Dan and Anderson going around

Afterwards we walked around Oak Bluffs did some shopping and had lunch

Next stop was taking the bus to Edgartown

Edgartown was quaint and charming with nice boutiques, historic homes, and restaurants on the water

Anderson was conked out by this point

While we waited for our ferry to take us back we stopped for drinks on the water

Loving the ferry ride

We had such a nice trip and can't believe it went by so fast. Thank you to Nana and Grumpy for everything! We miss you already!

Baby Dan

We found this picture during our visit and wanted to share it. It's a blurry picture of Dan because I took a picture of a picture but you can still see the resemblance between daddy and 6 month old Annabel!

Cape Cod

After returning from our visit in Virginia we spent four days in Charlotte before we packed it all up again and headed to Cape Cod. We flew to Cape Cod for 8 days. So many pictures that this may need to be covered in two posts.

Flying with 2 adults and 2 kids consisted of one checked suit case, one carry on suit case, one carry on bag, one diaper bag, one lost back pack full of shoes, and a double stroller. I told Dan not to pack a back pack full of shoes. He left it on the plane on our way to Providence. Lesson learned. On the up side we recovered the lost back pack in Charlotte. I've never seen Dan so happy.

There was lots of cousin bonding

So excited to spend time with Caroline, Jonathan, and Nicholas!

Anderson loves his cousin Foley!

Marian and Annabel - only 3 months apart

The girls

There was lots of beach time

Dowses beach

Nicholas and Annabel having fun in the tent

Anderson loves the water

Anderson was spoiled with an abundance of electric cars and learned how to drive them!

Nicholas shared his four wheeler

Looking cool in Lightning McQueen

and the dune buggy...

 Lots of golf was played

He was so excited to ride in the golf cart

Fourth of July

Cotuit Parade

Both King Families

Watching the parade with Emily and Christine

Kristin, Dan, Geoff, and Nana ran the Cotuit Firecracker 5K

Everyone won a medal in their age group!

Dan (mocking me) and his mini-me

And lastly...one of my favorite pictures Grumpy took of Annabel

One more post to come on Martha's Vineyard!
