Vacation

After Savannah we had another looong stretch in the car and actually had to stop again in Daytona before arriving in St. Pete. Annabel did not love the car on the way down. We enjoyed 6 1/2 days in St. Petersburg. It was a perfect family vacation. The weather was amazing and we enjoyed the beach every single day. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera at home but here is our vacation in pictures taken with my iphone.

Annabel was happy the whole time we were there! This was taken before dinner Sunday night

Beach day under our "Shade Shack"

My iphone and it's terrible zoom. Anderson and Daddy enjoyed the water every day

The A's and me before dinner on Monday night

We went to downtown St. Pete and ate at one of our favorites..Bella Brava

Our favorite gelato place = Anderson in heaven

It's not a Florida vacation without the Don Cesar at sunset

Made sure to get our ice cream before

Waiting for the sunset

It's also tradition to get a picture in front of the Uncle Andy's sign

Morning snuggles

The beach tent was wonderful!

Annabel took the best naps under the tent

Last night out at dinner

Annabel did so well on the drive home. We only stopped for one night in Hilton Head

It was so nice to get away for a week. It was a fun and relaxing family vacation. Our first as a family of four. Looking forward to many more!

Savannah, GA

Driving almost 10 hours to Florida with a 5 month old and 2 year old may not seem like the brightest idea but it did have its advantages. We were able to spend the day in Savannah and get to tour the city.

Scenes from Forrest Gump were filmed in Savannah...

There's a lot of pirate history in Savannah - Anderson loves pirates :)

The Savannah tour - it took us around in a trolley and showed us all of historic downtown

Being silly on the tour

All the square parks are a huge part of downtown Savannah

We got off at City Market and walked around. So many restaurants and shopping

Anderson found the ice cream store

World War II Memorial on the Riverwalk

Savannah was such a pretty city and the perfect way to start our week long vacation!

Discovery Place

Saturday morning Dan left to play in a golf tournament so it was just me and the kids. I decided to do something that would keep us busy so we went to Discovery Place for the first time. We went to the one in uptown and got there right when it opened at 10:00.
Anderson had so much fun exploring the Kid Science section which is geared towards kids 7 and younger. It is a whole exhibit where young kids learn by touching and trying out different activities like water tables, wind tunnels, etc.

The water table was a huge hit

Annabel did so well and slept off and on in the carrier

After playing in Kid Science for a while we headed to watch a 3D movie on dolphins. I was a little nervous about taking a 2 year old and 5 month old to a 15 minute movie by myself but they both did great! Anderson loved it and it got me thinking that he could be ready for his first real movie at a theater. Maybe a treat for his 3rd birthday?

Loving the 3D glasses

He seems like such a big boy to me these days. Especially when a couple of kids in the theater got scared and had to walk out. He was fascinated by the whole experience.

Anderson snapped the picture below of his view :)

We had very fun day and I'm even thinking of buying a membership since it includes 3 museums. After eating lunch at the cafe and playing some more we headed home exhausted. Dan came home from his golf tournament and gave me an early Mother's Day gift of a 50 minute massage at a wellness spa in the afternoon. After a busy morning it was wonderful!

Cathy Visits Charlotte!

Last Wednesday Cathy came to visit for four days. It was so nice having her come visit and spend time with all of us!

Minutes after arriving and already wanting a picture with Annabel :)

On Wednesday night we went out to dinner at 300 East. Dan stayed home and took care of the A's as Cathy calls them. It was so nice to get out for a dinner without kids. Afterwards we went to Amelie's and picked up dessert.

We sat outside - the weather was perfect!

Amelie's Bakery - so good!

On Thursday we met Laura, Charlie, and baby Will for coffee at Dean and Deluca. Afterwards we walked around Phillips Place and did some shopping.

Anderson and Charlie

Thursday Dan was out of town so we just picked up dinner and enjoyed it at the house.

Friday we did some more shopping and also went on a walk. We also went to the Farmer's market and walked around there. Friday night Cathy and I went out for burgers at Bad Daddy's and then did some shopping at Target after dinner. Target without kids these days is my idea of the perfect night. :)

Saturday we stopped by Mandy and Billy's to see baby Harry again. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures but Anderson was so excited to meet him!

Here's a sweet picture Cathy took of Anderson and Annabel

Saturday consisted of a girls day of more shopping. Cathy, Annabel, and I went back to Dean and Deluca for lunch and more boutique browsing. Cathy made us dinner that night with the ingredients we picked up at the Farmers Market. We also drank some skinny girl margarita in honor of Cinco de Mayo.

Sunday morning we had our final breakfast at Toast before dropping CC off at her friends place for a ride back up to DC.

We were so sad to see her go! It was such a fun visit and are so happy she was able to come visit and see Charlotte. We are looking forward to seeing her again next month when we visit VA.
